Free specialist eyecare services with the NHS

The NHS provides help with the cost of glasses based on Age, Health or Income. You may also be entitled to an NHS optical voucher that can be used to purchase glasses for FREE at RA Glass

Eye examinations are FREE under the NHS for:

  • Children under 16.
  • Young people up to the age of 18 years in full time education.
  • Adults of 60 years and over.
  • Those on certain benefits, (Job seekers allowance, income support, pension credit, family tax credit)
  • Diabetics, glaucoma sufferers and those over 40 related to glaucoma sufferers.
  • Those registered blind or partially sighted.
  • Those that are prescribed a complex lens.
Retinal digital imaging is an optional extra for a fee of only £9. Upgrades and coatings are available please ask for prices.
